“After my parents’ separation, I left the desert of southern Algeria and never returned. I moved east with my mother, and years later, I left again for the United States. With each move, I felt pieces of myself shift and at times, disappear.” -Samiya Amrani

I Belong to This Nowhere is a personal, poetic short film in which the director becomes the main character who will take us to document the journey back to the Sahara for the first time in 20 years to reconnect again with the fathers roots.

This film is slated to be released later in 2026.
